Some weddings are fancy. Others are simple. But no matter what kind of marriage you have had or plan to have, we can’t deny that weddings are precious moments. It only happens in a day, but the memories that took place during that particular day last for all eternity.
Even stuff like your wedding ring holds an important memory on your big day. It symbolizes your relationship as a couple.
For the future generations, they’ll see it as nothing more than a wedding ring, but in your eyes, it will always mean everything.
There is no such thing as a perfect marriage. From to time, couples experience setbacks and challenges. The wedding ring symbolizes how couples need to stick together through thick and thin.
With that, we can genuinely understand Mary Grams’ frustration when she lost her engagement ring. It’s probably not the same as a wedding ring. But still, engagement rings hold just as many memories as a wedding ring does.
Mary was just out gardening when she lost her engagement ring. Sure, some people might say that she shouldn’t have brought her ring while gardening, but for the case of Mary, she loves her marriage so much that she couldn’t even part with her engagement ring. It reminds her so much of her happy times with her husband.
Because of this, she was truly devastated when she realized she had just long her ring. Mary was pretty sure her husband would be just as disappointed. In line with that, she decided to keep the whole thing a secret.
Of course, Mary didn’t lose hope immediately. Part of the reason she didn’t tell her husband about it was that she still hoped to find it.
Mary tried to look for it for weeks. She cried for days realizing she’ll never see it again. Mary was afraid her husband would notice that it’s gone. So, she bought another ring that looked exactly like the original one.
Hopefully, her husband never noticed, but that’s not the end of the story.
Wedding Ring: Continuation Of The Search
Thirteen years later after this misfortune, Mary’s daughter-in-law went over to her carrot garden to mend her precious vegetables, and because of sheer luck or destiny, perhaps, there was Mary’s engagement that she thought she would never see again.
This would have been a pretty funny story if only Mary’s husband had lived to hear the tale. Sadly, he passed away five years before the engagement ring was rediscovered.
Isn’t it ironic?
Mary lost her husband, but she was reunited back to her engagement ring that was lost back when her husband was still alive and well.
At least, even though Mary’s husband is no longer there with her in the physical sense, she still holds his memories with her close to her heart. This was made possible through the revival of their engagement ring.
This time around, Mary had been extra careful with her engagement ring. She already lost her husband for real. There is no way she is going to let her engagement ring out of her sight again. Right now, it’s the only thing she’s got from her husband. It’s the only thing that remains from their relationship. Mary even said that she already disposed of her old habit of bringing the ring wherever she goes. Sure, Mary does love her ring. Up until now, she still likes to hold it close and reminisce all the happy memories has had with her husband, but if she needs to go out for social events or buy something from the grocery store, she makes sure that the engagement ring stays at home.
